AmsterDAMN

So Recently I went to Amsterdam with my mum and sister for a long weekend, just thought I would share with y'all the experience :))

Day 1

This was the hottest day by a MILE so we decided it would be perfect for a canal tour and let me tell you, we should be getting canals everywhere!!

Day 2

Today we went to a park that was just across from the apartment we were staying in, it was really pretty and chill.

We also decided to venture through the canals on foot rather than boat. On the way we also found the TFIOS bench which was crazy surreal and one to tick of my bucket list!

AAAAAHHHHHHHH

Day 3

Today it rained. However we didn't realise that it was going to and didn't dress for rain.
So comfy but so cold.
Today we also ventured around the canals and found the part of Amsterdam where all the vintage stores were. We then spent the afternoon in a cafe waiting for the rain to end.
It didn't.

The canals were once again magical:

Day 4 - The final day
Today we spent the day in Haarlem which is basically a quiet and less touristy Amsterdam.

And that was my time in Amsterdam! It was a great get away and super chilled everyone needs to go to Amsterdam, end of.

My summer is only just beginning I'm currently in London which is always fun and I'm going back to my home away from home, Waco Texas, in 11 days and I'm beyond excited. I promise I've got a haul coming up in the next week and I have plenty of other posts planned.

Ciao for now peeps

I Like To Read

I love to read however I have to be in the mood for reading so I'll go through periods where I won't read for months and then I'll go through periods where I'll read 5 books in one week. Right now I am in the latter, so I thought I would tell y'all about my most recent reads.

The Fault In Our Stars-John Green:

I have now read this book twice and both times I have wept for days after, I love it because it's such a realistic book, it doesn't romanticise cancer it shows how horrible it is and how painful it is to lose some one from it. I also love that it's about more than just love and cancer it's about friendship and growing up and travel.

For me this book is a definite 9/10.

If you haven't heard of this book I'm going to guess you live under a rock since it is now a movie which is in cinemas right now and it freaking awesome and made me feel way too many emotions.

Paper Towns-John Green:

Since I loved TFIOS so much I decided to buy more John Green books.

I honestly didn't know what to expect when reading this but I think its definitely now my favourite John Green book. It's about a guy (Q) thats in love with the girl next door (Margo) and one night she shows up in his room and she takes him with her to seek revenge on her friends, cause she just found out her boyfriend cheated on her. The day after she isn't at school and the rest of the book is about him trying to find her because whenever she disappears  she leaves little clues. It sounds like a mystery but honestly its not, I loved this book because it was unpredictable and I could never honestly say I knew what was going to happen next.

10/10

Still LOLO-Lauren Scruggs:

I got this book for my birthday, and when I get given books it always takes me the longest time to get round to reading them, so 2 months after my birthday I FINALLY got round to reading this book.

The book is the story of a girl who's life got turned upside down when she got hit by an aeroplane propeller. Its a true story and I loved it because she's a christian and it really does show how good God can be even when life is completely crap! This was something I really needed to hear when I read this book so that was pretty awesome!

This book gets a 8/10 from moi

Breakfast at Tiffany's-Truman Capote

I have loved the movie of this book for yeeaarrs and then when I was in London my Dad was so determined for me to read the book that he actually bought me it!

This book is pretty much completely different to the movie, and surprisingly short! In the book there is much less of an obvious relationship between Holly and Paul, and it is also made more obvious in the book what Holly does for a living. I loved the book but because of how different to the movie it was I found it almost disappointing

6/10 for this one

Looking For Alaska-John Green

I like John Green okay!?

This one was probably my least favourite out of the three, I loved it don't get me wrong, just not as much as the other two! Its about a boy who starts going to boarding school in the hopes of making his life more exciting and then when he's there he falls in love with a girl who's definitely a little messed up and its mostly about there relationship and the first year of school etc! I liked this book because it was another book where I couldn't see what was coming and it kept me on my toes.

8/10

Thats what I've been reading recently, what about you? Feel free to comment below recommending a book, I'm always looking for new reads!

Wish-list.

Basically I'm the worst blogger on the planet because I neglect my blog so much.

HI Y'ALL, I have had a crazy last few months, but my life is slowly resuming normality, I WISH I could say I'm going to start blogging more, but I can only promise I'm going to try.

Since summer is around the corner and I have a serious lack of summer clothes I am going to need to do some SERIOUS shopping. I'm going to London this month so I will do a haul at the end of it, but these are the items at the top of my wish list (random crap included)

Tops-

I have had a white top similar to these two for 5 years and I think I'v worn the crap out of it and as much as I love it, it has stains on it and rips in awkward places so needs replacing.
I love these 2 as they are loose fitting which will be awesome during the summer to keep me cool and being white they'll go with most things!

Topshop                                                                                                                                                                               Forever 21

Etsy is literally one of my favourite websites, I never buy anything from there but I'm in love with pretty much everything on the website.
One of the things people will sell is mystery ____ for example mystery flannel, so they'll send you a random flannel shirt in the mail, and I love this idea. The one I think I'm actually gonna go for is called mystery vintage t-shirt so they'll send you a random vintage t-shirt in the mail in whatever size you want and I lovvee surprises so I'm definitely gonna go for this!

Dresses-

I have a serious lack of summer dresses and I loovvveeee these 2 they're so floaty and perfect for summer, both of these are slightly out of my comfort zone the Red one having a very bold pattern and the Blue being quite a unique style.

Forever 21                                                                                                                                                                         Topshop

Shorts-

THESE SHORTS ARE LITERALLY THE COMFIEST THINGS EVER. I already have a pair that are all black but because I wear them so much I definitely need another pair and grey and blue are two of my favourite colours so this pair makes sense.

Shoes-

I saw these shoes on etsy and fell in love, literally the only shoes I wear are my vans so I feel like I need something more girly.

These sandals are called Chacos and are really popular in america, loads of my friends when I was over last summer were telling me how comfy they were and I love the colour of this pair

I am that annoying person that wears sports clothing not because I'm athletic but because its insanely comfortable which is the number one reason I want these trainers.  They're also a pretty colour so BOOM.

RANDOM CRAP-

ALL HAIL RANDOM CRAP THAT NO ONE ACTUALLY NEEDS

Ok, so in fairness this isn't that random but it didn't fit in the other categories so here it is! I literally keep my phone and purse in my bag so I always have loads of awkward space left in my bag making it feel weirdly empty, so the size of this bag is perfect and I love it.

HAMMOCK, I NEED A HAMMOCK.
All of my friends in Texas keep going on about how awesome hammocking is and it looks like one of the most relaxing things ever and I don't care how strange I would look in a hammock in England I seriously want one soo bad!

To make my laptop pretty and hide the fact its actually pretty dirty wooh! And it's only like £7 on eBay :)

Mason jars are life and this is the cutest most hipster thing I've ever seen and I want it. £3.99 from Sainsburys? I think yes. I'm going to enjoy many iced coffees from this bad-boy

I've had the same travel mug for 5 years now, probably longer, so I just want a new one and this one is pretty and it has a handle so I can still feel classy when I'm drinking

And the final random thing on my wish-list is a penny board, everyone I know that penny boards keeps saying how fun it is and since its summer, it's the perfect time to learn a new skill so why not penny boarding!?

If you made it to the end of my wish-list CONGRATULATIONS you win nothing... better luck next time.

But thank-you for reading like I said I promise that I am going to try to blog over the summer I promise that I will try and that you will get at least one new post from me this summer!

Afterlight: App review.

A new post so soon!? Aren't you guys just the luckiest ;)

Instagram is deffffooooss my favourite social media, I take pictures of everything I do and I'm a very visual person so I love seeing what other people are doing rather than seeing a tweet about it. I'm also very nosey which probably doesn't help haha!

However for the longest time I have not used an actual Instagram filter, I just post pre-edited images on there. The app I do use to edit images is called afterlight, its 69p but lets be real, thats nothing, and its so easy to use and it can make pictures look AMAZING.

One of the main things I love about this app is how many options it gives you. At first this can be over whelming and you have no idea what to do but after a few times it gets easier and you find what preferences you have.

                        1.            2.           3.            4.              5.

1. This is where the majority of options are i.e. the most confusing part.

There are A LOT of things to choose from and I have nook idea what most of them actually do, I think most of them are very technical, which is cool I just have no idea how to use them!

These are the ones I use the most-

This one alters the exposure of an image (how light/dark it is)

These in order are: Clarity, this sharpens and brightens the image at the same time, idek but it makes it look fabb. Brightness, again darkness and lightness of the image. Contrast, how intense the colour are.

I use this one on every picture ever ever ever. It kind of makes the dark parts of the image softer by making them like a greyer tone, if that makes sense? But I love what it make an image look like!

2. These are the filters. There are A LOT, these ones are my top 4:

I love how vintage they all are and they're all beautiful and amazing and I JUST LOVE THIS APP OK!?

3. Light leaks and dust: These are overlays that go over the top of an image and they're pretty cool, I like the dust ones because they make the image look old which is pretty cool, but I never use them. I LOVE using the light leaks though. Here are my 4 favies:

4. Cropping rotation and straightening. Literally needs no explanation.

5. These are the borders. I pretty much only use this one because I like keeping the full image and this makes it square so I can upload it to instagram!

But YEAH, so I hope this has convinced you to download this app because it perfect and everyone should have it.
